Tarrant County Clerk Residents Directory

The Tarrant County Clerk's main office is at the Tarrant County Courthouse, 100 W. Weatherford St, Suite 130, Fort Worth, TX 76196. Call 817-884-1195 for info. Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The office keeps deeds, mortgages, liens, assumed names, marriage licenses, and military discharges. Records go back to the county's founding in 1849. You can search the official records search online for free. Unofficial copies are now free to download.

Tarrant County stands out from many other Texas counties because it has several satellite offices spread around. The Southeast Subcourthouse in Arlington at 700 E. Abram Street handles vital records and passports. The Northeast location at 645 E. Grapevine Hwy in Hurst is another option. A subscription-based web access service is available for attorneys and frequent users at $120 to start plus $35 per month.

Under Texas Government Code Chapter 552, all government information in Tarrant County is presumed available to the public. You do not have to state a reason when you ask for records. Tarrant County uses an online portal called JustFOIA at tarrantcountytx.justfoia.com where you can submit and track public information requests. You can also email openrecords@tarrantcountytx.gov. The County Attorney's Office handles these requests and has 10 business days to respond.
