The Fort Worth public records page has details on how to search council agendas, minutes, contracts, and other city documents. You can search by keyword on the city site.

As of January 1, 2025, the new designated address for public information requests is publicinfo@fortworthtexas.gov. The city has 10 business days to respond. Under state law, all government info is presumed available unless a specific law makes it confidential. You don't have to say why you want the records.

Tarrant County manages court files, property deeds, and vital records at the county level. The Tarrant County public information page explains the process for county records. You can also use their online portal at tarrantcountytx.justfoia.com or email openrecords@tarrantcountytx.gov.

Fort Worth Police Records

The Fort Worth Police Department Records Division is at 1000 Calvert Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Call 817-392-4160 for help. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As of December 2024, Fort Worth PD changed its online request system. The primary method for crash reports is now TxDOT CRIS.

Online through the TxDOT CRIS system is the fastest way to get crash reports. You can search by crash date, location, or report number. The cost is $6 for a standard copy and $8 for a certified one. Reports are usually available 10 to 14 days after the crash happened.

For in-person requests, visit the Records Division at 1000 Calvert Street. Bring a valid ID and crash details. There is no search fee for in-person requests, which makes it the most cost-effective option if you can get there during business hours. Call 817-392-4160 before visiting to check that the report is ready.

Mail requests go to Fort Worth Police Department Records Division, 350 West Belknap Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102-2004. Payment can be by credit card, cashier's check, or money order. The fee is $6 for the report plus $6 for a search fee if you don't have the report number. Reports under 10 pages are free for offense reports. Processing takes about 10 business days by mail.

Fort Worth Municipal Court

The Fort Worth Municipal Court is in the A.D. Marshall Public Safety and Courts Building, 1000 Throckmorton St, Fort Worth, TX 76102. Call 817-392-6700 for help. Fax is 817-392-6723. The court handles city ordinance violations, parking and traffic violations, and school attendance violations.

Court #2 is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 11:30 AM and 1:30 to 4:30 PM. You need a Court Records Request Form to get copies of court records. Online citation search is also available on the court website.

Tarrant County runs the district courts, county courts, and justice of the peace courts that serve Fort Worth. The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office Records Division is at 200 Taylor Street, 6th floor, Fort Worth, TX 76196. Call 817-884-2942 or email sheriffrecords@tarrantcounty.com.

If you have a complaint about a county office failing to release records, you can email openrecords-complaint@tarrantcountytx.gov. The Texas Attorney General Open Records Hotline is 1-877-673-6839. For state-level court records, the Texas Judicial Branch runs the re:SearchTX system covering all counties. The Texas DSHS handles vital records at the state level.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner provides autopsy reports and toxicology results to authorized requestors per county policy. Offense reports under 10 pages are free from Fort Worth PD. Reports over 10 pages cost $0.10 per page. A certified offense report costs $5 extra, while a certified accident report costs $2 extra. Fort Worth City Secretary Records

They maintain council meeting agendas, minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and board records. Elections and the municipal code are also managed here.

The City Secretary's Open Records Portal lets you submit requests online. The office at 200 Texas Street, Suite 3614, Fort Worth, TX 76102 handles walk-in requests. Fax is 817-392-6654. Under the Texas Public Information Act, you don't need to state why you want the records. All government info is presumed available unless a specific law makes it confidential.

Building permits, inspections, and development-related records are available through the Development Services Department.
